Most “bamboo” underwear is bamboo viscose — a cheaper, harsher process that strips away much of what makes bamboo fiber breathable. Normal bamboo keeps the fiber's natural structure intact, so it performs the way bamboo underwear is supposed to: cooler, softer, and longer-lasting.

The bamboo lyocell base pulls heat and moisture away from skin, while mesh panels at the pouch and inner thighs add direct airflow to the areas that run hottest.
Bamboo is produced in a closed-loop process that preserves more of the bamboo fiber's natural structure. Viscose is cheaper and more common but strips much of that away.
Machine wash cold with like colors and skip the fabric softener — it coats the fibers and reduces breathability. Tumble dry low or hang dry.
